Minnesota-born-and-raised R.J. Mischo and Parisian expatriate Franck "Paris Slim" Goldwasser are internationally renowned, touring and recording artists and music educators. In this engaging story-telling and musical performance event, the two will tell of their respective 35+ year immersion in the world of the African American experience, culminating with their meeting in the 1990's, collaborating on recordings and touring the world together. The presentation will include a survey of the history of blues music and the appreciation and impact it has garnered beyond the United States during the past five decades; we will touch on the basics of blues harmonica and guitar playing. The 2-and-a-half to 3-hour long presentation will end with a mini concert. Participants will be encouraged to bring their instruments and join in, to the extent of their capabilities.
